This research work is aimed on planning as a management function in an organization (a case study of Doyin investment)

INTRODUCTION

1.0   BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

  • No organization plans to fail, but many fail to plan, planning is the first and perhaps the most important function of a management. The essence of planning is to prepare and predict future event goes beyond attempting to attain stated organization objection, it involves the development of strategy and procedures required for effective realization of the method of accomplishing the overall organization objection.

Organization theory believes that it’s necessary for us continually examine, criticize and think about then structure functioning and process in organization. It’s very important if organizations are not decay, moreover since organizations are dynamic they will always want to be update. Since man live in a society which needs order, organization is essential to human existence as its absence many usher in anarchy and chaos.

Man is central to organization and at the same time man need adequate planning in order to achieve the stated organization goals. And the study of organization theory although some believe that structure is just a mere frame work but it’s a study of man and is group that gives rise to organization theory.

In any organization selling’s planning has to be given the highest priorities simple because planning involve working out broad outlines, indicating the thing that need to be done and he method necessary for achieve them. Organization made up of clear consideration of a number of properties it process e.g. building collection of machinery legal document containing a statement on incorporation and human being who are bought together in a hierarchical set up making use of tools, equipment human and material resource in order to accomplished organization setoff objective mix never be accomplished without taking planning into cognizance. As said earlier on those organization who fail to plan will never achieve the set of objective, and planning is one of the management function in an organization will achieve his goal within a sophisticated short period of time.

  • 1.1 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The aspect and focus of this study by the researcher is to identify planning as a managerial function in an organization.

Hence in the course of the study, efforts will be made to find solution to following research question.

  4. How can planning help in order to achieve organization goals

1.2 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The aims and objective of any organization is to succeed and maximize profit which some establishment fail to achieve, but it’s possible if proper planning is considered. The objective of any organization are the aims that goals set out in plans are targeted towards it’s attainment of contain objective that plans are set out for, at the first instance. It’s also important to note that objective in enterprises should be identifiable quantifiable and achieve and achievable.

  • 1.3 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The significance of planning can be seen in two ways,

Pervasiveness of planning is reveal when the need of action has been identified and indicated, this is because implementing plan affects the entire organization and subsequently the other managerial function organization and staffing, leading, controlling and coordinating. Essentially planning is required at every stage managerial process.

Planning as a managerial function in an organization has goes a long way to prove management efficiency which bridges the gap from where we are, to where we want to go with the selection of missions objective and the actions to achieve them, it require decision making that is choosing from among alternative future course of action which leads to the following hypothesis.

The research work is trying to focus on detail analysis about the aims and objective of planning as managerial function in an organization, because of the short period given to the study, the project will be limited to be the uses and importance of planning as a managerial function of Doyin group of company Ilorin to find out how planning aids managerial in the future progress of the company.

1.6   LIMITATION OF THE STUDY

In any research study there are bound to be some limiting factor that may hinder the executive of the task. The likely problems that are bound to be encountered in the course of this study include the following.


FINANCE:
 Since contain cost have to be inevitably incurred in the process of sourcing for the required data at a located for away from here, the research, stays certainly pose contain problems.


TIME: 
Being a student having the sufficient time to collect the available data needed in course of the research it’s a bit difficult.

Also limitation the research work is carried out to know planning as a managerial function In an organization in Doyin group of company is structure and design to cover all paper conversion.
