Candidates are admitted to the Department by two modes: University Matriculation Examination (UME) and
UTME
Candidates for UME entry should have at least credits in 5 subjects including English Language in West African Examinations Council/National Examinations Council at ordinary level. UME subjects must include English Language and two of the following subjects Political Science, Geography, Economics, Commerce, and Business Administration.
DIRECT ENTRY
In addition to UME entry requirements, candidates must have General Certificate of education or equivalent at the Advanced level with a minimum of two relevant subjects listed above, Diploma in Crime Control and Management, Diploma in Social Administration (at least Upper Credit).

Admission Requirements
Candidates are admitted into the professional Master in Industrial and LabourRelations if they have a minimum of a third class in relevant disciplines of humanities and sciences from reputable Universities. The duration of the professional programme shall be a minimum of fifteen calendar months.

III. PH.D SOCIOLOGY
Admission Requirements
Candidates with M.Sc in Sociology from University of Ilorin and other recognized Universities are eligible for admission in to the Ph.D degree programme in Sociology provided they score at least 60% or its equivalent in their final M.S.c. degree examination to be conducted by the Department.
The programme will run on both full and part-time basis. The duration of the programme is a minimum of 30 calendar months for fulltime students and a minimum of 42 calendar months for part-time students.
