Nigerian Senate Extends JAMB Result Validity To 3 Years
This is a big plus for all Nigerian students seeking admission into various Universities, Polytechnics and colleges of education across the country. This is because the Nigerian Senate on Thursday, October 13, has decided to extend the validity period of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to three years period instead of the traditional one year.

From the information reaching us from the Nigerian senate facebook’s page, the information below was sent to the public few minutes ago.


Nigerian Senate just passed the amendment to the Joint Admissions and
Matriculation Board’s Act #JAMBBill SB. 245 into law. In the amendment passed,
the Senate strengthened the Board to allow the results of students in the
annual examination be valid beyond that year.Chairman of the Senate Committee on Tertiary Education and TETFund, Senator Jibrin Barau while presenting the report of his committee on the #JAMBBill explained that the amendments will further strengthen the Admissions Board in its responsibilities.Senate President Bukola Saraki, in appreciating his distinguished colleagues for their work towards the passage of the bill commented that the new amendments will indeed bring financial relief to students as well as parents and reduce
bottlenecks and corruption in the admission process.”

What Does This Extension Means For Nigerian Students?

This means that, if you write JAMB and scored above the cut off mark but unable to gain admission in that year. You can then keep you Jamb result and use it to apply for admission in another year. You can as well keep the result for three years and use it to seek admission continually for good three years.
