Can I Use Awaiting Result For Direct Entry And How To Apply

Can I Use Awaiting Result For Direct Entry And How To Apply
Jamb direct entry form is always out on sale by April every year. i.e when all JAMB result might have been released. Jamb releases the application form for direct entry into 200level for all Nigerian Universities at the same time and it closes at the same time also, without paying regards to disparity in Nigerian Universities’ academic calendar/program.
So many people want to apply for direct entry but their ND/NCE is not yet out. They feel like obtaining direct entry form but are still students in their respective Polytechnics or colleges of education. Some are optimistic of when their result is going to be out and be ready for collection, while majority are not even sure of when they are going to get their result because they are still in second semester in their respective schools.
That’s the major reason why I keep receiving calls from people asking questions such as: Can awaiting result apply for direct entry? Can I use awaiting result for direct entry? Can someone use awaiting result for direct entry? What are the list of schools that accept awaiting result for direct entry? Does FUTA, FUTO, Unilorin accept awaiting result for direct entry? Does Uniben, OAU, AAU, Unizik, accept awaiting result for their direct entry? Can I apply Unilag direct entry with awaiting result?
Most of these questions are what I will be providing answers to. That is why am writing this article to address it for the benefits of those that will find it so useful to take decision. Therefore, if you have been so worried to get a positive answer to your questions, kindly read on.

Direct Entry Print Out Submission With Your Documents

One of the hindrance to your questions is the compulsory submission of your direct entry form with all your credentials. This is expected to be done immediately you obtained and completed your direct entry form online. You will have to go to the nearest Jamb office with all your credentials, so that officials of Jamb can record it and send your name to your institutions of choice.
This means that, failure to submit your direct entry form to Jamb, you name will not appear on your institution’s admission database, talk more of been considered for admission. You can now see the reason why you just have to submit it.

Can I Submit My Direct Entry Form To Jamb Without My ND/NCE Result?

So many applicants have also called me to confirm if they can submit their jamb direct entry registration form without including their ND results.
If you take your documents to Jamb for submission, the Jamb officials in charge will check one after the other the whole documents you enclosed in the envelop in your presence. Therefore, failure to include all the necessary documents will make them return it to you immediately.
If by error, they accepted it from you. Don’t think you’ve escaped it. Jamb usually send all the direct entry forms submitted to all jamb offices in all States to Abuja where they will record them and send each to their respective institutions of choice. So the person who is meant to work on your document in Abuja will surely noticed that your diploma or NCE certificate is not included.
He/she will just drop it immediately and work on another one. The implication of this is that, when it is time to register for post UTME in the school you choose, your detains will never be found on their database.

So What Can You Do?

I might have condemned all your plans by saying all the above, but sincerely, am only saying the truth. I won’t want you to waste your money nor time pursuing something that won’t work out.
I can help you out, and if what am going to tell you does not work for you, then you don’t need to disturb yourself.
What you are expected to do are:
  1. Search for information on schools that does not conduct post UTME for its direct entry applicants.
  2. Search for Universities that don’t use to release their admission until something like January or February the following year.
  3. Then obtain your direct entry form around June, since the closing date is July.
  4. Complete it online, but don’t submit it to Jamb office yet since your ND/NCE result is not yet out.
  5. Wait till when your result is released but not later than September or October.
  6. Then take the result with all your credentials attached with your direct entry print out to Jamb office for submission.
  7. Submit it, and make sure you don’t submit it later than October.

Since your institution of choice does not conduct post UTME, you don’t have problem. The admission will also not be released till January or February, so before the school will release admission, Jamb would have submitted your details to your institutions.

Note: If you are not sure of when your ND/NCE result would be out, don’t disturb yourself. Also, if you know your result will stay longer than October before been released, its also difficult. Though you may risk it.
But don’t choose Universities that do conduct post UTME for direct entry applicants. Don’t choose schools that used to release admission as early as possible.
All the best dear.
