Securing SMS (Short Message Service) Using Cryptography

Short Message Service (SMS) is the oldest application for exchanging messages between communicating parties in cellular network used by mobile phones Increasing SMS privacy using AES encryption algorithm in Android application Varied encryption algorithms like AES, DES, RC4 and others are available for the same. The most widely accepted algorithm is AES algorithm. We have developed an application on Android platform which allows the user to encrypt the messages before it is transmitted over the network. This application can run on any device which works on Android platform.

An Evaluation Of Adsorption Potential of Groundnut Shell Powder on Nickel ions in Aqueous Solution of Nickel Ammonium Sulphate

1.0   Introduction
1.1   Background of the study
Groundnut shell is a carbonaceous, fibrous solid waste which encounters disposal problem and is generally used for its fuel value,It  can also serve as as filter medium in removing heavy metal ions from solution of their ions. The removal of these heavy metal ions can be achieved through using resins containing functional groups such as amino, iminoacetate and amidoxime, which has the chelating ability towards metal ion.

Prevalence of Malaria Parasitaemia in Pregnant Women that Attend Hospitals Within Kaduna Metropolis

1.0 Introduction

Malaria remains the single most important infective causing mobility and mortality in the world and is second only to mycoloceterium tuberculosis as the single most important infection agent (Green wood, 2010). It is of the most impediments to progress in Africa, with 90% of the global malaria deaths occurring in this continent (Bulter, 1997). It is responsibly for one in four deaths below the age of 5years and could lead to miscarriage most times of the early stage of pregnancy (Bulter, 1997). In the endemic countries of Africa, children under the age of five and pregnant women been the brunt of the burden of malaria diseases, this is because they have lower immunity to the disease compared to other people in the same environment (Rainiet al., 2004).

Construction of a Semiconductor Diode Module for Testing the Characteristics of Germanium Diode

Construction of a Semiconductor Diode Module for Testing the Characteristics of Germanium Diode

A module was constructed to determine the forward and reverse characteristic of germanium diode. It was constructed locally using materials such as wood, nails, plastic printed board, nut, germanium diode (0A83), carbon resistor (100Ω), variable resistor (10KΩ), connecting wires and terminals. The module was tested using the continuity test to check, and characteristics test.  The characteristic curve for both the forward and reverse bias graphs were plotted. The value of forward bias voltage was found to be 0.25V with a reverse saturation current of -7.0 A.

Biometric Data Capturing System for National Identity Management Commission

The National Identity Management Commission Act 2007 provides for the establishment of the NIMC, its functions, powers, establishment of the National Identity Database, assignment and use of General Multi-purpose cards, and the National Identification Number (NIN). Every citizen from the age of 16 years and above and legal resident are eligible to enroll the National Identity Number (NIN). Object oriented methodology is being used at the development of a system that consists of the recording of an individual’s demographic data and capturing of the ten finger print, head to shoulder facial picture and digital signature, which are also used to cross check existing data in the database before an identity Card is printed (issued).
